Over a six-week period throughout July and August 2026, we supported our children aged 2.5 years to transition smoothly, effectively and, most importantly, individually into our 2–5 building.

Previously, this building operated for children aged 3–5 years. Following reflection and evaluation, we made the decision to adapt the provision to support younger children and provide increased challenge, opportunities and experiences for all of our children.

We are particularly proud that feedback from our staff, children and parents was extremely positive. This was also recognised and highlighted within our recent Care Inspectorate inspection.

As part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, we have reviewed and evaluated our transition processes. Moving forward, all in-house transitions will be supported over a minimum period of three weeks, with each child having an individual, detailed and evidence-based transition diary. This will allow us to closely monitor each child’s progress, experiences, needs and responses throughout their transition.
