Our HMI and Care Commission inspection reports illustrate our ongoing commitment to providing the highest possible levels of safety, care and education across all of our nursery campuses.

  • Fees are due, and payable, one full month in advance.
  • Our fees are based on a 51-week year, allowing for the period when the nursery is closed between Christmas and New Year.
  • If your child is unable to attend a scheduled session for any reason, fees are still payable.
  • Please note children are required to attend a minimum of three sessions per week in order to ensure continuity of care.

Pre-school funding

We work in partnership with Edinburgh City Council to provide pre-school teaching in line with the national curriculum. This means parents of children between three and five years will be eligible for grant funding towards fees. Applying for this grant funding could give you up to £2,100 per year towards your childcare.

Childcare vouchers

We welcome all employer childcare vouchers, which could help you save even more money through reduced tax and National Insurance contributions. Ask your employer for details.

For more information on fees, please contact Karen Murray, our Group Director, by email at

The children from Cranley Buckstone, Craiglockhart and Colinton joined together for their graduation ceremony. It was an emotional day for both parents and staff celebrating all the children’s achievements throughout their time at Cranley.

The children from Cranley Buckstone, Craiglockhart and Colinton joined together for their graduation ceremony. It was an emotional day for both parents and staff celebrating all the children’s achievements throughout their time at Cranley.

The nursery graduation ceremony was held on Saturday 28th June at Craiglockhart Church. Over 150 parents, grand-parents friends and family attended the event. Each of the nurseries took part in singing, poems and demonstrations of extra-curricular activities.

All the children were amazing, showing confidence and more importantly enjoying being on stage. We wish all our class of 2014 happiness and success on the next step of their educational journey!

Cranley Team to run in Edinburgh Marathon Festival for Charity

Edinburgh Marathon Festival Weekend

A team of 12 staff from all 3 nurseries will run the 5k as part of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival weekend. The event takes place on Saturday 24th May in Holyrood Park. Parents are being asked for to sponsor staff with all proceeds being split between 2 charities, one at home and one away.

In addition Karen Murray Group Director will be taking part in the half marathon and is also running in aid of Homelink Family Support. Claire McDonald who works at Craiglockhart will be taking part in the Marathon, also for charity. A busy weekend for all.

Our local Charity is Homelink Family Support. This charity provides a variety of services to families with young children who are under stress or experiencing difficulties. The core element of the service is a high quality befriending service which provides support for the whole family and is based in the family’s home. Volunteer Befrienders are carefully recruited and trained and are then matched with a family to provide focused support to meet the needs of the family. If you would like to read more about them please go to Homelink.

Our charity abroad is Isaiah´s Home of Love in Zimbawe, looking after orphaned children. Cranley Nursery is presently helping to support Brandon a 3 year old boy who was abandoned by his mother. Previously we helped to support Anesu who was later reunited with his mother.
